Personal Life

Mohammed Siraj comes from a poor and humble family background. His father Ghouse Mohammad, is an auto driver by profession for the past 30 years. They lived in a small rented flat in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.
Siraj was born in 1994 in Hyderabad. He did not took any professional training for cricket. His brother is a software engineer who works in a reputed IT firm. Siraj’s family wanted him to study engineering but his passion for cricket ensured his selection in IPL, State and National Team.
Siraj started his cricketing career as a batsman and later shifted to bowling. He developed his ability to bowl yorkers by playing tennis ball cricket.


Domestic Career

Mohammad Siraj made his first-class debut on 15 November 2015 by playing for Hyderabad in 2015-2016 Ranchi Trophy. He impressed the selectors by picking 41 wickets in nine matches, which led the selectors picking him for the rest of India team for the Irani Cup.
His hard work paid off in February 2017 when he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the Indian Premier League of 2017 for 2.6 crores. His base price was just 20 lakhs. He played 6 matches in
Indian Premier League 2017 and picked up 10 wickets with best figures of 4/32 against Gujarat Lions at Kanpur. His brilliant performance against Gujarat Lions fetched him first Man of the Match award in
Indian Premier League .

International Career

In October 2017, he was named in India’s Twenty20 International squad for series against New Zealand. He made his T20 debut for India on 4 November 2017, taking the wicket of Kane Williamson.
In September 2018, he was named in India’s Test squad for their series against West Indies but he did not play.
He made hid ODI debut against Australia at the Adelaide oval on 15 January 2019.
In an interview with Mid-Day Siraj said that he wants to buy a small house for his family. He wants his parents to enjoy a good life. He also wants that his father to quit driving an auto and rest, for all the hard work he had done for the family over the years.
He is definitely a talent to watch for.
